Synthetic fragrance or perfumes. Some 3,000 chemicals are used in a single fragrance. Many are irritating and can damage the scalp.
Synthetic colors. They can cause skin sensitivity and irritation.
Propylene glycol. It is the same as automobile antifreeze. Very common to prevent freezing during shipping and storage.
Lanolin, petroleum, and mineral oil. Used in greases and pomades, they go through the hair fiber and prevent it from absorbing the natural oils produced by the scalp.
Dimethicone. It is suspected that it can cause carcinogenic mutations, and tumors in the skin and internal organs, such as the liver and lymph nodes.
The sulfate debate
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a very powerful surfactant, emulsifier, and detergent used in thousands of products such as dish and laundry detergents, shampoos, makeup, toothpaste, mouthwashes, soaps, etc.
During its manufacture, a carcinogenic by-product (1,4 dioxane) is produced. The same happens with sodium Laurent sulfate (SLES), which in addition to 1,4 dioxane contains ethylene oxide, another carcinogenic agent. It is the gradual and continuous use of these by-products with the ability to cross the skin and enter the bloodstream (because of their small molecular size) that may cause a potential health hazard.
What the studies say
There is enough evidence to show that they are aggressive detergent irritants with a molecular size small enough to enter the blood and accumulate in the internal organs of the human body.

Moisturizes the hair shaft. It can pass through the hair cuticle and moisturize the hair shaft. In addition to boosting shine and preventing breakage, wheat protein also helps retain moisture in the hair, giving it a thicker look.
Hydrolyzed wheat starch
They are easily absorbed into the hair shaft and hair follicle. Because hair is made primarily of protein, hydrolyzed wheat proteins can repair damaged hair follicles, lift hair, and reduce porosity (tiny holes) in the length of hair shafts.
Potassium CLA Glutathione
CLA is derived from safflower oil (linoleic acid). Safflower oil is also rich in oleic acid, which is very beneficial for the scalp and hair. This vitamin increases circulation to the scalp, stimulating hair growth and the strength of the follicles. It can also help keep your hair shiny and vibrant.

As blood circulation improves, it also brings oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicle, helping hair grow faster and thicker.
Menthol
It is considered useful for hair growth because it is scientifically known as a vasodilator. This means that it can stimulate blood circulation in the scalp and cause the hair follicles to open up, leading to increased hair growth.
This latter quality makes menthol especially beneficial for hair care because the increased blood flow to the scalp can help nourish hair follicles and improve the health of future hair growth. A healthy scalp also means fewer skin irritations and less itching or flaking.
Capsicum extract
Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, a compound that stimulates hair growth. Capsaicin stimulates blood circulation to the hair follicles, which ensures better nutrition and healthier hair growth.
